Belgian programme ‘Hydrography B’ recognised by IHO
The Hydrography B programme of the Institute for Hydrography (IVH) has been accredited by the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) during the 36th annual meeting of the International Board on Standards and Competences (IBSC) in Lisbon, Portugal.
On 16 April 2013 the IVH participated in a submission meeting regarding for the accreditation of the Hydrography B programme, which started in September 2012. The Board’s decision was favourable, and an official statement will follow as soon as the IBSC meeting is finished and reports are completed.
The IVH was founded within the Antwerp Maritime Academy in collaboration with Ghent University, Flanders Hydraulics, Flemish Hydrography and the maritime industry. The Hydrography B programme consists of 60 ECTS and has a duration of minimum one calendar year.
