Alumni webinar 4 May

Many thanks to all 96 of you following our webinar and providing useful feedback.
It was a new but great experience to us as well.
Most importantly: For the guys on board, hang in there, may you get home soon and YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!

“You are not alone. You are not forgotten.”
So said IMO Secretary-General Kitack Lim in a moving personal message to seafarers around the globe.The Antwerp Maritime Academy Alumni Community acknowledges the exceptional conditions seafarers are facing during the Covid 19 pandemic.
We empathise with our Alumni and their shipmates isolated on board and would like to remind them that they are not forgotten!

For this reason we are organising a webinar on Monday the 4th of May at 19h00 CEST.

Jeroen Van Overloop, Directorate-General Shipping, will present the way the Belgian Flag State is dealing with this crisis.

Tiny Aerts, member of the Jan De Nul Group's Crisis Team will present the approach the company is taking in handling the enormous crew change problems.

Following these presentations, we will attempt to go live to two of our fellow Alumni;
Naomi Vanderstockt, First Officer currently on board “The World” and Kristof Mathieu, Captain on Jan De Nul’s TSHD “Afonso De Albuquerque” in Uruguay.

A Q&A possibility will follow and those who want can take the floor and share their thoughts.
Concluding the meeting with a “virtual reception” may certainly not match our usual get-togethers most agreeable atmosphere, but we keep it in mind to express our thoughts of solidarity!  ?.
